History of Eagle
Staff 25-26

Since opening in January 1997, Eagle Academy High School has offered a flexible, student-centered approach to learning. Born from a unique partnership between Arapahoe Community College (ACC) and Douglas County School District (DCSD), the school began in a wing of Highlands Ranch High School with an evening schedule that ran from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. This innovative approach provided students with the flexibility to balance school with work and other responsibilities. Eagle launched with 120 students and 20 staff members, with most teachers working part-time while holding other full-time positions. This flexible model laid the groundwork for the school's lasting success.
